Cabin In The Mountains
On November 9-11 we traveled to the Smoky Mountains for a weekend at a remote cabin on top of a mountain about 7 miles
from Pigeon Forge. The resort areas of Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge-Sevierville and the National Park are some of our favorite
places to visit. Was this trip to explore strange phenomena, a movie site, or something paranormal? Only if you consider
relaxation, shopping, horseback riding and an outdoor hot tub something unusual. Well, I suppose it could be, but it is
the mission of NiteWatch to see that these things remain a regular and normal activity. We visited the "Pepper Palace", a
specialty shop catering to aficionados of all-things hot, whether hot sauces, salsa, chili, etc. Several other shops
including a music store, novelties, sports, and many others were visited. Restaurants were the Texas RoadHouse, Calhoun's,
and the Alamo Steakhouse, but not all the meals were eaten "out" as new member Chef Mike prepared our breakfasts and suppers. A 3 mile
trek up a mountain on horseback was Sunday's highlight.
