Demon Photo and Story
I was shown a picture about a year ago that, to be perfectly honest, was quite stunning. A friend of mine has a daughter, and she was at a friend's house one night. A picture was taken, and nothing was out of the ordinary, just a normal night with friends. But then the pictures were developed. I have enclosed two photos. One is a scan of the original photo. The scan does not do the original justice, the details are washed out. So I have also included an enhanced photo that I produced by tweeking the contrast, color balance, and saturation. As you will see, there is an image on the tv screen behind the girl. Of course, that's what tv screens are for, but, in this case, she claims that the tv was not on, they were not watching tv. So you be the judge. I know what the image looks like to me, and indeed the original shows unmistakably the apparition of some sort of face, complete with pointed ears and even gnarled teeth. If you rule out that the tv was on, then what other option is there? It cannot be the reflection of a face positioned off camera. If it were, I would say, due to actually experimenting with my own tv, that the face would have to be about four feet long to fill up the screen as it does. Notice also that the face appears to be looking toward the direction of the photographer. So what is this image? Demon Photo With Contrast--Do you see it?![]()
CONCLUSION: In my opinion, this is a classic example of an effect that can be achieved with flash photography when used in front of a television. Someone sits in front of the tv wearing a mask and when the picture is taken the flash captures the reflection on the negative, which can then be enhanced as this photo has been. Of course, feel free to disagree, but hey, it is interesting to see.
