The Judaculla Rock has been an intriguing subject for hundreds of years and we travelled
to see it for ourselves recently. It is located near Sylva, NC on farmland that is easily accessible
not far from Western Carolina University. The rock seems to be eroding quickly when compared
to pictures taken in the 1930's when the drawings were filled in with chalk for easier viewing.
There are human stick figures and animals but many more geometric and spiral designs.
Was this a history of the creators, or something more? The figures almost appear as if
they are straight out of a mad scientist's laboratory.
